Volunteering
There are lots of ways to volunteer and lots of reasons to do it. People can do whatever suits their needs and gives them a ‘buzz’.
Across the world, people are being encouraged to volunteer and BUPA is delighted to be playing its part. With over 40,000 people, plus families and friends, we could really make a difference!

- What could you do?

- What needs doing in your community?
- What would you like to change?
- How would you like to make a difference?
- How much time do you have to spare?
What’s in it for me?

People volunteer for a variety of reasons, with the aim of:
- meeting their own interests and needs
- meeting the needs of family and friends
- responding to a particular need in the community
- improving things or getting things done
- meeting people and making new friends
- sharing their own skills and abilities
- learning new skills
- gaining new qualifications.
Be smart, be skilled, be someone
Through being involved in community projects you will gain personal satisfaction, enjoyment and skills for future employment and life.
And as well as helping others, you’ll be helping BUPA.
New skills can help you with future promotion too, for example through increased qualifications, experiences or responsibilities.

Care home residents have taken up knitting 'squares for blankets' and 'trauma teddies' to help needy people around the world. The teddies are given to young children involved in road accidents. The residents participated in this programme as part of a nationwide initiative sponsored by BUPA Care Services to encourage older people to volunteer for community work. |
