NHS patients praise treatment at local Bupa hospital

Thousands of NHS patients who have been treated by Bupa Hospitals have praised their treatment.
Bupa Hartswood Hospital treated 439 people from the local area and has now successfully completed its contract with the NHS under a national initiative to cut waiting lists.
All NHS patients who are treated by Bupa are asked to fill in a questionnaire, which allows them to feedback about all aspects of their care. The final results show that patients are very happy with the service they received from Bupa, with 91 percent of them describing the service they received as excellent or very good.
Patients also complimented the cleanliness of the hospital with 94 percent saying it was good or excellent. The care and attention and quality of service from both nurses and surgeons was rated very highly at 91 percent (good or excellent).
Mark Gilmour, general manager of Bupa Hartswood Hospital, said: “At Bupa we are constantly striving to ensure patients receive the very highest levels of care at our hospitals. We are extremely pleased with these results as they clearly demonstrate that we are achieving our aim.
“We are totally committed to working in partnership with the NHS to help bring down waiting lists. By continuing to build on these excellent standards, we believe we can play a greater role in service delivery for the NHS, while remaining focused on providing healthcare for private patients.”
Bupa has a network of 26 hospitals across the UK delivering 200,000 private in-patient and day-case treatments and a further 600,000 private out-patient treatments each year.
