04 December 2003
Forget postal strikes and last posting dates, from the beginning of December until Christmas Day you can send Christmas e-cards to friends and family and raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. By logging on to www.merrychristmas.co.uk, sponsored by Bupa for the third consecutive year, you can send up to 50 animated Christmas e-cards for a pledge of £5.
“We’re very pleased to be supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity with such a fun initiative for the third year running. This year Bupa will donate an additional £1 to the charity for every £5 pledged. We’re also encouraging our staff to log on and in return we’ll donate an additional £5 for every member of staff who registers. One hundred percent of Bupa’s additional donations will go directly to the charity,” says Monica Owen, Bupa’s community affairs manager.
Dona Selby, executive director of Great Ormond Street Hospital, says: “Thanks to everyone who pledged £5 in the last two Christmas campaigns. We would love to reach 25,000 pledges this year so please tell your friends and colleagues and help make this a merrychristmas.co.uk to remember.”
Everyone who registers on the site will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a unique Christmas card designed and signed by actress Amanda Holden. This card will also be made into an animated e-card on the website.
To pledge your support and send up to 50 e-cards, simply:
