Bupa acquires nursing & residential care home in Wiltshire
12 May 2004
Bupa Care Services has acquired Avon Court Nursing and Residential Home in Chippenham, Wiltshire, bringing its portfolio of care homes in the UK to 246. Avon Court is registered for 60 nursing and residential beds and is Bupa’s first care home in Chippenham, complementing its care homes in Trowbridge, Westbury and Bath.
Peter Ludford, director of Bupa Care Homes, says: “We’re committed to providing high quality care to residents in all our care homes and we’re looking forward to working with staff, residents and relatives at Avon Court.”
“We’re investing a significant amount in refurbishing the care home and work is due to start shortly. It will include upgrades to facilities and the home’s living areas, providing comfortable and attractive areas for residents, visitors and staff to enjoy.”
The modern two-storey care home was built in 1990 specifically for residential and nursing care. Both floors are easily accessible by wheelchair and there is also a lift to the first floor. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and some have views over the garden. Avon Court has four spacious lounges, two dining rooms and a conservatory.
