Bupa appoints non-executive director

Robert Walther has been appointed as a non-executive director by healthcare company, Bupa. He will join the board on 1 May 2004.
Mr Walther (60) is currently chairman of Fleming Claverhouse, Fidelity European Values and a non-executive director of Nationwide Building Society.
A fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and an Associate of Investment Management and Research, Mr Walther has had a distinguished career in the financial services sector. He was previously chief executive of Clerical Medical Investment Group Ltd and a member of the Halifax executive committee.
Bryan Sanderson, Bupa chairman said: “We are delighted to welcome a non-executive director of Mr Walther’s calibre. His experience in the financial services sector will be invaluable to Bupa.”
Mr Walther is married with two children.
