Bupa catches the rugby bug

Following England’s rugby world cup win at the end of last year, interest in the sport has reached fever pitch and the latest converts include the leading private health and care company Bupa.
Bupa International and Bupa Hong Kong are sponsoring this year’s Hong Kong Rugby Sevens tournament. The tournament takes place between 26 and 28 March in Hong Kong in the government stadium and is expected to attract up to 40,000 rugby fans each day. Twenty-four international teams will compete in the prestigious tournament at which Bupa is the exclusive medical sponsor.
“Bupa has a long-standing commitment to health and fitness sponsoring a series of Great Runs in the UK, including the world-famous Bupa Great North Run. Bupa encourages everyone to take an active interest in their health and lending their support to sports events is one way of conveying this message of support,” said Bill Ward, managing director of Bupa International.
Damien Marmion, managing director of Bupa Health Insurance in Hong Kong says: “I arrived in Hong Kong last year around the time of the tournament and witnessed the wonderful atmosphere that it created. I am really excited to be more involved this year and can’t wait to see all the action live for myself this time.”

The sponsorship of the event includes branding on the scoreboard and around the pitch and branded adverts and information in all the official event material.
