“Under Pressure” is an engaging multimedia course, designed to equip your staff with the knowledge needed to cope effectively with the pressures associated with work. It is also a very cost-effective way of tackling an issue that is widely accepted to be the most common cause of absence amongst non-manual workers.
It is available as a boxed set of two interactive CD-ROMs and a booklet. It can also be provided for integration as part of your company intranet. The author Professor Cooper CBE is widely acknowledged as a world-leading authority on workplace stress.
Some of the topics covered include understanding stress, its effects and symptoms, the impact of personality, work-life balance and stress in others. Self-assessment tests are provided so that the individual can gauge how much of the material has been absorbed.

Initial measuring
The first step is to measure the prevalence of stress and to identify ‘hotspots’ which need to be addressed. From this assessment Bupa can provide a report benchmarking your organisation against HSE standards, as well as other organisations including guidance on where initiatives and budget should focus in order to address any issues which are highlighted.
A comprehensive suite of training and organisational consultancy can be used to design and deliver initiatives that address issues that are identified. This consultancy can include tailored stress management workshops for employees and managers, changes to policy and procedures, workplace restructuring, management training and development.
