Doctors and nurses Hide

Employees can use the service for routine medical requirements or just occasionally for advice. Bupa doctors can provide:

  • appointments of 15 minutes or longer
  • prescriptions
  • repeat prescriptions
  • private consultant referrals
  • second opinions
  • vaccinations
  • travel advice
  • dietary advice
  • contraceptive advice

While respecting patient confidentiality, medical staff will liaise closely with the occupational health or human resources teams to ensure employees’ needs are understood and met.

It is important that employees maintain the continuity of care provided by their own GPs. Where necessary, and with their permission, we will write to their GP giving details of the consultation.

An on-site nurse, who is able to deliver services such as vaccinations and contraceptive advice, can support the doctor. Your organisation then benefits from a more focused mode of delivery, freeing up the doctor’s time for more one-on-one consultations.

Physiotherapists Hide

Our on-site physiotherapy service provides speedy access to diagnosis and treatment to your staff. Rapid referral to more specialist treatment leads to quicker rehabilitation, less time off work, and fewer ill-health retirements.

Our physiotherapists can work with your occupational health team to identify workplace problems and provide advice on how to minimise and avoid absences caused by musculoskeletal illness.

This could involve giving display screen workstation advice, fast-tracking problem cases, advising on changes of duties or the purchase of ergonomically correct furniture.

Working together in this way, the team can record and track individual treatments and interventions. The resulting management information can be used to monitor workplace exposure to musculoskeletal risk and its relationship with medical insurance underwriting costs.

Dentists Hide

Dental problems can lead to frequent periods away from work. Regular check-ups by an on-site dentist can help prevent problems and help reduce the need to take time off.

Bupa’s on-site dental services can provide:

  • Oral health assessments – a thorough examination to identify existing or potential problems
  • traditional care - from the smallest filling to solving complex problems
  • specialist treatment - endodontists (root treatment), periodontists (gums), oral surgeons and implant specialists
  • hygiene - scaling, cleaning, and advice about looking after teeth and gums
  • cosmetic dentistry - including teeth whitening and tooth-coloured restorations

You choose how the service is delivered

The Dental Box
A fully transportable, rapidly assembled and extensive dental surgery offered exclusively by Bupa. Normally, we can turn a meeting room into a dental surgery and back again within a couple of hours. An ideal solution to assess an on-site service with minimal start-up costs.

Fixed on-site surgeries
If you already have facilities for on-site medical care and there are sufficient patients, we can set up and operate a fixed surgery where dentists and specialists can all operate.

Employed dentist
We can employ a dentist on your behalf to enable you to offer dentistry to your staff at subsidised rates.
