Switching to Bupa Switching to Bupa

Switching your company private health cover to Bupa couldn’t be simpler.

To get your policy up and running we just need a few details about your business and your current scheme. Your Bupa account manager will talk you through the process and we’ll do most of the work. Here’s a quick guide to what will happen and the kind of questions we’ll ask.

What we need to know

  • The names, dates of birth and family status of the main members.
  • Whether any main members already have cover with Bupa.
  • The date you’d like cover to start.
  • Your company bank details, if paying by monthly direct debit.
  • We’ll also need to see the policy schedule/membership statement you have with your current insurer. If you’re not sure what this is, please ask your Bupa account manager for more information and help

What happens next?

  • Once you’ve passed this information to us, we’ll send you a ‘Total Loss Ratio’ statement, which relates to your claims history with your previous insurer. Your group secretary will need to sign this and return it to us. Again, if you’re unsure about anything, your Bupa account manager will be able to help.
  • After we’ve received your signed statement, we’ll enrol your employees to the company scheme.
  • You will then receive a welcome pack and membership certificates will be sent to each new member’s home address.
