Welcome to Admirals Reach Residential and Nursing Home in Chelmsford
Being a large home, Admirals Reach is perfectly set up to deal with a wide range of care needs. Our 158 rooms are separated into five houses and focus on different care requirements. Three houses care for people with dementia, one offers residential care and Drake House is designed to help our more able residents to prepare for returning home.
Regardless of which house our resident is living in, they will receive a high level of care, 24 hours a day. Every resident has a unique care plan, as well as a named nurse and carer.

Life at Admirals Reach Residential and Nursing Home
There's something going on every day at Admirals Reach and we try to vary the programme of events and activities so there's sure to be something for everyone.
We want to make sure that our residents have the freedom to spend their days exactly how they wish. Whether that's taking a stroll around the gardens, catching up with what's on the TV or a good book, or taking part in one of the many activities organised by our in-house activity co-ordinator.
Bupa's proud of its Community Connections scheme, and has recently worked with Marie Curie to take part in Bupa’s Communi-tea week welcoming older people living on their own in the local community to join us at Admirals Reach for a tea.

We're particularly proud of the care and attention our chef and staff put into creating menus every day. Residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to their meals, as the chef will meet with them personally on a regular basis to make sure they are getting the food they want and need – so it's both tasty and packed with nutrition.

How do I arrange a visit?
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
How soon can I move in?
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
