Kirknowe is made up of three separate, self-contained houses situated in a friendly residential area of Wishaw. We are surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds with a herb garden and a comfortable patio area to relax in. We also have a cafe which is open on certain days for residents and visitors.
We have created a warm, friendly environment with all the facilities and standards of care and hygiene you would associate with Bupa. It's really important that our residents feel completely at home with us. We help them lead as active and independent a life as possible, and tailor the support we offer to each individual.
In addition to person centred care, we provide nursing staff to support residents who require qualified nursing care.
Round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment for up to six weeks. Perfect for carers who are ill, on holiday or just need a break.
Care for those recovering from surgery or illness, through a combination of rest appropriate exercise and balanced diet.
We provide respectful pro-active care for residents and relatives in their last days of life. We ensure that their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.
Expert personal care 24-hours a day in comfortable, homely accommodation with daily activities to stimulate body and mind.
We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
We are regulated by the Care Inspectorate. This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
An inclusive and varied activity programme is a vital part of the care we provide and our dedicated activity co-ordinator aims to find something for our residents to take part in every day.
Appetites, sleeping patterns and general well-being are all improved when residents have something fun to look forward to every day. We are always open to suggestions from residents and their loved ones about new hobbies and pastimes they might like to try.
Some of the activities which are popular among our residents include music, arts and crafts, film shows, light exercise programmes and pet therapy. The more green-fingered can enjoy a little light gardening – we grow mint, thyme and sage to use in our kitchen. Our residents can enjoy visits from the mobile library as well as local entertainers who pop by to perform on a regular basis. The home is close to local shops, which means that some residents enjoy popping out to do a little shopping. We also arrange other trips out locally to places like Clydeside garden centre.
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
