Visit us at Northlands House in Shirley, Southampton
Our home is situated in the pleasant suburb of Shirley, on the site of a Victorian home and incorporating some charming original features. Spread over three floors and surrounded by extensive landscaped gardens and attractive patio areas, Northlands House has the facilities and high standards of care you would expect from Bupa.
We want our residents to retain as much independence as possible, so rules and regulations are kept to a minimum. The care we provide is tailored to suit the needs of each person, regardless of the length of their stay. Our focus is on respect, dignity and quality of life.
We offer 24-hour personal support to those with a condition that requires frequent specialised, qualified nursing care.
We provide respectful pro-active care for residents and relatives in their last days of life. We ensure that their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.

Customer Satisfaction Report
We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
Care Quality Commission Report
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
Life at Northlands House
The care we provide is centred around a full and active life, and we ensure there's something engaging and enjoyable for our residents to do every day.
We have a dedicated activities co-ordinator who chats with residents to find out about their hobbies and interests. During their stay residents are encouraged to pursue their own interests, or perhaps try something new with a group activity. These are a great way to meet other residents as well as improving appetites and sleeping patterns.
Gentle gardening, puzzles, games, arts and crafts and sing-alongs are just some of the activities our residents enjoy. Friends and family are welcome to come along at any time and join in the fun. Local entertainers often pop by to perform, we hold a summer fete and arrange regular days out to local farms and garden centres.

How do I arrange a visit?
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
How soon can I move in?
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
