Originally a grand private house, dating back to the 19th Century, our home has been carefully converted into an outstanding care facility. Summerville is a well-equipped nursing home located in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Stockton Heath. It is surrounded by beautiful grounds and is conveniently close to shops and local amenities.
Summerville has gained a strong reputation for excellent care in the surrounding community and holds the Gold Standards Framework award for end of life care.
We offer 24-hour personal support to those with a condition that requires frequent specialised, qualified nursing care.
Care for those recovering from surgery or illness, through a combination of rest appropriate exercise and balanced diet.
We provide respectful pro-active care for residents and relatives in their last days of life. We ensure that their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.
Round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment for up to six weeks. Perfect for carers who are ill, on holiday or just need a break.
We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
A wide range of activities help residents to get to know one another while also improving sleep patterns and appetites. We aim to find something fun and involving for our residents to try every day.
Our residents are free to pursue their own hobbies, and our dedicated activity co-ordinator will do their best to accommodate any requests, as well as suggest some new activities to help them feel part of our community. These might include quizzes, film screenings, use of the computer as well as old favourites such as arts and crafts and a little gentle gardening.
Local entertainers often pop in to perform, and the hairdresser visits once a week. Friends and family are welcome to come along and join in whenever they like – it's a great way to liven up visits.
When a new resident arrives a member of the catering team will be along to sit down and chat about what food they enjoy and anything they try to avoid. We also ask about any special dietary requirements. These details are then passed on to our chef.
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
Many of our tastefully decorated rooms are en-suite. All come with high-quality furnishings, as well as smoke detectors, thermostatic radiators and a 24-hour call system for added peace of mind.
We want residents to feel as at home as possible. We encourage them to personalise their bedrooms with their favourite ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture.
Call now to book a visit and meet our care home manager, who can answer any questions you may have.
There’s a lot to figure out when it comes to funding. Pop in for a visit and we will be happy to talk it over.
