Life at The Arkley Nursing Home
Activities are a vital part of good care. We know that if our residents have something enjoyable to do every day it helps keep minds active, improving appetite and sleep patterns.
Our residents are encouraged to pursue their own interests or try something new. Arts and crafts, flower arranging, manicures and discussion groups are always popular. And the beautiful grounds are the perfect place for those with green fingers to enjoy a little gentle gardening.
As well as daily activities we also organise regular outings to London Zoo, the National Trust's Waddeston Manor as well as riverboat trips.
Our Community Connections team supports fundraising and volunteering, including regular community events. We also invite local entertainers along to perform classical, modern and old-time music and there are regular visits from the mobile library.

How do I arrange a visit?
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
How soon can I move in?
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
