Nursing services
Bupa Home Healthcare's licensed nursing service provides a range of nursing care from one-off visits to 24-hour complex clinical care.
Our service compliments NHS nursing provision and cares for patients (both adults and children) in their own homes. We help our customers design and plan individualised care packages that meet the needs of the patient, their family and the hospital, ensuring patients are seamlessly transferred from hospital to home.
Our specialist nurses work to agreed local protocols as specified by the referring unit and have experience of a wide range of therapy areas and treatments. They can provide education and training to the patient and their family to enable greater patient independence at home. Our out of hours advice line provides additional reassurance and support.
Our nurses and healthcare support workers are subject to professional screening according to the standards recommended by the Care Quality Commission and the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care.
Each member of our nursing staff receives full induction training, ongoing supervision and assessment. Many have extensive experience of high tech treatment and specialist therapy areas, including complex care, community nursing and respite services.
Our nurses are responsible for providing clinical support to patients and their families encompassing drug administration (for example connecting and disconnecting a patient to their medication or delivering home infusions) to full patient training meaning that the patient can take responsibility for administering their own treatment over time.
