Why use a pre-authorisation?

Using a pre-authorisation will make creating the invoice much simpler. This is because information such as patient and treatment details will be pre-populated from the pre-authorisation. You will still have the chance to make any changes necessary before submitting the invoice.

If you don't have a pre-authorisation though, just leave this field blank and continue to enter all the necessary details.

Tips for searching

Enter the patient's surname, date of birth and post code to search Bupa member details. The post code must be formatted correctly and include a space. For example TW18 3DZ.

If you cannot find details of the patient you require, it may be that it is not possible to create invoices for these people online. If you think this is the case please contact the provider service centre or submit a paper invoice.

Tips for entering provider details

Enter details of all providers to be included on the invoice. The provider you are currently associated with must be included. Other providers who you are not invoicing on behalf of, can be included here to help validate the invoice.

If you are using a pre-authorisation, the provider details may be pre-populated.

If you don't know the provider reference, you can search for all or part of the providers name. Be as specific as you can to find suitable matches. The search is not case sensitive and you can use % as a wildcard character.

Specialties and sub specialties are not applicable for hospitals or other establishment providers.
