What is Bupa HealthLine?
The Bupa HealthLine gives you phone access to fully qualified nurses. They can give you confidential health information, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Do I have to be a Bupa member?
No, the service is available to anyone who wants to use it.
How long can I talk?
It's entirely up to you. You can be as brief or as detailed as you like - and there's no pressure to stay on the phone. As a rough guide, most calls tend to last between six and eight minutes.
Who answers the telephone?
Calls are taken by fully qualified Bupa HealthLine nurses, who have a variety of backgrounds such as midwifery, general and orthopaedics. They're ready to lend a friendly, sympathetic ear, and they'll be able to answer questions on many health issues.
What sort of things can I ask about?
Just about any health-related issue! For example, you may have an ache or pain that won't go away - we can help provide clinical information on your symptoms and discuss possible treatments.
We can tell you about possible after-effects of surgery, side-effects of any medication you're taking, where support groups are based, what inoculations you need when you're travelling abroad and where to get them.
We can also talk you through first aid treatments for accidents around the home.
