Bupa care home, Eastbury Manor, celebrated in style this week to mark its recent £330,000 makeover. Bupa’s regional director, Oliver Thomas, officially unveiled the nursing home’s striking new look with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for residents, relatives and staff.
Eastbury Manor has already been awarded an ‘excellent’ three-star rating by the care homes’ regulator, the Commission for Social Care Inspection. The new look for the home has gone beyond the traditional decoration to include new paintwork, carpets, curtains, furniture and lighting as well as modern en-suite bathrooms in each of the home’s 25 bedrooms. However, the biggest hit with the residents has been the introduction of new flat-screen TVs.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrations continued with musical entertainment and refreshments as visitors to the home received a grand tour of its new transformation.
Home manager, Karen Harman, said: "We are all thrilled about the home’s impressive new look and are extremely proud of what has been achieved. It‘s wonderful to see the final results after all the upheaval. The new-look entrance is really striking and everyone comments on it as they come in."
Bupa’s regional director Oliver Thomas commented: "Eastbury Manor is a stunning care home and the new look is a triumph for the staff and residents who live and work there. Improving the standard of care for older people is our top priority and this is an excellent example of the multi-million pound investment programme Bupa is making across the UK care homes sector."
