New Malden nursing home, Lynton Hall, is celebrating its top-to-toe makeover after a £300,000 investment by Bupa.
Residents, relatives, staff and people from the local community are invited to help celebrate the occasion with refreshments and musical entertainment when the Mayor of Kingston, Councillor David Berry, cuts the ribbon to unveil the refurbishment.
Lynton Hall now offers its residents the very latest entertainment technology, including large flat screen televisions in living areas for everyone to enjoy and internet access. Two wet rooms have also been added to meet the changing individual needs of residents.
The home has been extensively redecorated with new carpets, curtains and furniture throughout, and each resident chose the colour scheme and the new décor for their bedroom.
The refurbishment is part of Bupa's multi-million pound investment in the UK care homes sector to help improve the standard of care for older people and has proved a real hit with the residents of Lynton Hall.
Home manager Barbara Carter, said: "The home's makeover has had a huge impact on everyone at Lynton Hall and the residents were delighted to have input in the redecoration of their bedrooms. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our new look home."
