Admirals Reach is a modern, well-equipped care home situated in a residential area of Chelmsford, Essex. This purpose-built home has exceptional facilities having recently undergone a refurbishment.
At Admirals Reach we welcome long or short-stay residents. Our knowledgeable and dedicated staff are always on hand to provide support and care for people requiring residential, nursing, nursing dementia, convalescence, palliative care and respite. We also offer a range of services for young, physically disabled residents.
Mealtimes are important, enjoyable social occasions at Admirals Reach. We make sure all residents have a wide choice of appetising meals, and that individual preferences are understood and catered for. Made using fresh ingredients, there is always a varied and nutritionally balanced menu on offer that incorporates a choice of hot and cold dishes and light alternatives.
Residents have the choice to eat in the homely dining room or in the privacy of their own room, if they prefer.
Admirals Reach consists of five houses – one provides residential care and four others provide specialist dementia care.
Mountbatten – residential care
The Mountbatten is a same-level, ground floor residential facility. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Each is attractively decorated with high quality furnishings. We encourage residents to personalise their rooms by bringing pictures, ornaments and small items of furniture to make them feel more at home.
Jellicoe, Benbow and Nelson – dementia care
Jellicoe, Benbow and Nelson are three dementia care houses that are same level, ground floor facilities. As well as offering high standard bedrooms that include en suite facilities and provide a homely environment, each house has a sensory room that provides a stimulating, relaxing and enjoyable environment for residents.
Drake House offers a service which enables residents to return home without the need for further support. Read more.

Different activities take place each day, taking into account the residents’ individual interests and levels of mobility. While residents have plenty of time to pursue existing hobbies and interests, there is always the opportunity to discover new ones - perhaps joining one of our popular clubs for gardening, cookery and painting.
As part of Bupa’s Community Connections scheme the home has recently worked with Marie Curie. We also celebrate Bupa’s Communi-tea week, where older people who live on their own in the local community are invited into Admirals Reach to meet the residents and join in the fun.
