Mount Hall Nursing Home

Mount Hall is situated in the rural village of Bollington, close to Prestbury and Macclesfield and just 20 miles from Manchester. The home has recently been refurbished throughout to a high standard.

The care we offer
We offer several types of care depending on each individual, including long term nursing and residential care, convalescence, palliative and respite care.

Key features of Mount Hall
This home was originally a private house and dates back to the 1830s when it was built by Samuel Greg Junior. It has since been carefully converted and extended to create a pleasant, well equipped home for elderly residents, while retaining many original features. At Mount Hall we go out of our way to make our residents welcome. They can relax in one of the well equipped lounges, enjoy a sunny afternoon in the delightful landscaped gardens or take up a new or favourite activity.

Bedrooms
Bedrooms at Mount Hall are all single occupancy, although larger rooms may be able to accommodate two people if required. Most bedrooms are ensuite and some benefit from views over the large landscaped gardens. All are attractively decorated and have a remote controlled television, thermostatic radiators, smoke detectors and a 24-hour call system. Some have telephone points. We encourage residents to bring their own personal belongings such as ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their bedrooms even more homely.

Garden
The gardens are extensive. There are six acres of beautiful landscaped grounds, a summer house and a pond with abundant wildlife. There are seating areas where residents can sit on sunny afternoons and a sensory garden offers stimulation to the senses. Residents who enjoy gardening are welcome to continue this interest at Mount Hall if they wish.

Types of care

  • Respite
Respite care can offer a welcome break for you and/or your carer and can be provided in most care homes, offering residents a temporary stay for perhaps a week or two. It can also help to cover periods of time when a carer is unavailable. Many Bupa care homes offer respite care if there is a room vacant.
  • Palliative
This is active, compassionate care of the chronically and terminally ill, directed towards improving the quality of life. Palliative care particularly focuses on the control of pain and symptoms. These specialist approaches include the individual, the family, carers and friends, and extend to bereavement and grief.
  • Convalescence
Homes that offer short term care for people recovering from illness or an operation.
  • Nursing
Nursing homes provide accommodation, meals and personal care, but also have qualified nurses in constant attendance. Many also provide more specialist care for specific conditions. A nursing home will generally charge higher fees than a residential home because it offers care by qualified nurses, although the NHS now makes a contribution to nursing care fees (see 'Paying for care'). The minimum age for admission is normally 65, although you should check with individual homes as some are able to accept younger residents.
