On the outskirts of Leeds, in the old coal mining community of Colton sits Colton Lodges. This home was deliberately designed to welcome elderly people and comprises four separate single storey houses.
Colton Lodges offers a range of care services and can accommodate people for a short break, including respite or a more lengthy stay if required.
Each of the four houses at Colton Lodges concentrates on a particular type of care. All have their own facilities and emanate a homely, community feel.
At Bupa, we believe in the highest standards of care and comfort, provided in a way that is individual to every resident.

Mealtimes are an important part of our resident’s day. Home-cooked meals provide balanced nutrition and take into account residents’ likes, dislikes and dietary requirements. In addition to hot dishes, our chef offers cold alternatives as well as snacks and lighter options.
Cups of tea, coffee and cold beverages are always on hand and homemade cakes are served with afternoon tea.
At Colton Lodges we aim to help residents maintain their independence – and we encourage all to lead a full and active life where possible. Activities that are organised for residents provide physical and mental stimulation, add structure to the day, and provide something for residents to look forward to. They also help to bolster strength and energy.
Music and movement, quizzes, bingo, darts and bowls are some of the activities offered at Colton Lodges. A calendar of monthly seasonal activities provides themes to base activities around. These might include a summer fete, a pantomime or bonfire night celebrations.
Residents may take an interest in the home’s many clubs which including the popular painting and reading club.
We like to get out and about when we can and have strong links with our local community. A pub lunch, coffee mornings at local cafes and shopping trips to Leeds are firm favourites. Friends and relatives are invited to join their loved ones for any events and outings we arrange.
