This purpose-built home has been refurbished and upgraded. It is conveniently situated in Corstorphine, a residential area of Edinburgh, on a local bus route and with shops in walking distance.
Pentland Hill provides a range of stays. This includes long-term nursing care, convalescence and respite, palliative care and specialist care for older people with dementia or physical disabilities.
There is varied menu of fresh, nutritious food, prepared daily by Pentland Hill's chef. All tastes and dietary or cultural requirements are catered for, with an assessment of every resident's needs shortly after they arrive. Menus are seasonal, with hot and cold choices and menus are clearly displayed on the wall and on dining tables. Residents can choose to eat in the homely dining rooms or in the privacy of their own room, if they prefer. On their birthdays, residents can select a meal of their choice and enjoy a delicious home made birthday cake to celebrate.
At Pentland Hill, activities are organised to reflect the abilities and interests of all residents, by our dedicated activity co-ordinator. Regular group sessions include gardening, games and arts and crafts. All residents are encouraged to keep active with daily tasks such as walking, socialising or helping to tidy up, if they wish.
There is ample opportunity to pursue personal hobbies, with clubs for residents sharing special interests such as gardening. Trips to local places of interest in and around the city of Edinburgh are always most enjoyable. We like to celebrate seasonal events throughout the year, for example Burns Night, Mother's Day and Hogmanay.
