Continued involvement

We encourage relatives and friends to be involved with the resident’s day-to-day life within our homes, including activities and local community events.

Relative and residents meeting and newsletter

Some of our care homes hold relatives and residents meetings. These vary in frequency and format according to the home and are a two-way meeting which give home managers the opportunity to update relatives on things happening in the home, events coming up which the relatives might want to be involved in and any general news they may want to communicate.

It is also a good opportunity for the relatives of residents to meet each other and build up a network with families in similar situations to themselves and share their experiences. It provides a forum for finding out information and allows an opportunity to express any concerns and request any changes.

Each home has its own way of conducting these sessions. For further information contact the care home’s manager.

Our relatives and residents newsletter is published twice a year across all homes and gives a general update and shares stories of interest on other Bupa care homes.

Annual customer satisfaction survey

All homes are surveyed annually amongst the relatives of residents and where appropriate amongst the residents themselves. These comprehensive surveys enable us to gain a detailed understanding of all aspects of our homes and the care we provide, so that we can maintain our excellent standards of care.
