How much does a care home cost?

While every Bupa care home gives the very best expert care, independence and security, each home has its own individual style and range of facilities.

More than 70 percent of our residents get financial help towards the cost of their care. The level of help they get depends very much on individual circumstances.

Read this guide to get an idea of care fees and how to find out the cost of living in one of our care homes.

What will I have to pay?

The cost of your care will vary depending on what type of care and accommodation you need and choose and on whether you receive financial assistance (see ‘getting financial help’ below). Nursing care homes generally charge higher fees than residential homes because residents usually need more specialist care.

Fees are also dependant on:

  • level and type of care
  • location of the care home
  • the type of room you choose

To give you a rough idea, the cost of our care homes ranges from:

  • £350 to £750 per week* for standard accommodation and personal care range
  • £500 to £1,100 per week* for nursing care

* Figures are correct for May 2010. Note that costs may be higher depending on your individual care needs.
