Nursing care
If you have a condition that requires frequent, specialised nursing care, our nursing care homes offer the 24-hour personal support and accommodation of a residential home, plus the benefit of specialist nursing care.
A Bupa nursing care home provides:
Some of our care homes provide specialist nursing care and facilities for specific conditions, such as dementia, Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. We can also provide nursing care for the young physically disabled, for people who have had a stroke and for those who require post-operative, convalescent or palliative care.
Follow the links on the left-hand side of this page to find out more about the types of nursing care and specialist care we offer.
Our person-centred nursing care approach means that you will be respected as an individual and treated with dignity. All our residents have their own personal care plan, which recognises their individual needs and wishes. The personal care plan also documents all aspects of medical care you need and ensures consistency and continuity of nursing care.
We also ask you, your friends and family to help us complete a ‘map of life’, which is a record of your life story, so we can make sure we really get to know you as a person when you arrive.
Prices vary depending on the type of care and accommodation you need, and the duration of your stay. Nursing care homes generally charge higher fees than non nursing care homes because they offer specialist nursing care by qualified nurses. There are, however, contributions from the NHS available towards the cost of nursing care to those who qualify.
Our prices include:
Please talk to us if you want treatments and services not in your care plan, such as hairdressing, physiotherapy, chiropody, or aromatherapy. Each home manager will give you the details, including any additional costs, of extra services available within their nursing care home and information about your terms of stay.
Before choosing a nursing care home it is important to visit the home, meet the staff and residents and ask lots of questions.
You can use our online tool to search for a nursing care home by postcode, town, type of care or for a particular nursing care home by name. You can also find contact details for all our nursing care homes. Call the home manager to arrange a visit and check bed availability.
