Respite and short stay care
Everyone needs a break from time to time. And that’s what respite care gives carers and the people they’re caring for.
With Bupa you are choosing a care home with the very highest standards of respite care and comfort. You don’t need Bupa health insurance to stay in our care homes, they are open to everyone.
Respite care is a short, temporary stay in a care home. The respite care stay can be as short as a day, or as long as six weeks.

When you arrive you’ll be given an individual assessment to make sure all your needs are met. You’ll have the peace of mind of 24-hour care. And if you stay in one of our nursing homes, a nurse will be on hand 24 hours a day to provide care and reassurance.
You’ll be well looked after with a range of activities, delicious meals and laundry service. Other extras and additional services can include chiropody, hairdressing, and physiotherapy. If you have any extra requirements, we’ll be happy to discuss them with you.
Fees vary depending on the type of care and accommodation and the duration of your stay.

Additional charges may apply for treatments and services such as hairdressing, newspapers, physiotherapy, chiropody, speech therapy, occupational therapy and aromatherapy. Each home manager will give you the details and costs of extra services and information about your terms of stay.
Before deciding which care home is right for you it is important to visit the home, meet the staff and residents and ask lots of questions.
