Supplementary health checks

Bupa Supplementary Health Checks enable you to get a more detailed view of specific areas of health such as allergies, coronary heart disease and certain types of cancer. They can be booked individually or included as part of a Bupa Health Assessment to focus in on any specific health concerns you may have.

Bupa Breast Health

As breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, it pays to be proactive and seek prompt health advice.

Particularly relevant to women over 40 years, this health check consists of a thorough breast check (including mammography) and breast awareness guidance, to help detect early signs of breast disease.

Bupa Erectile Dysfunction

One in ten men experience erectile dysfunction, yet only ten percent seek medical advice. But, in many cases it can be symptomatic of an underlying condition that can be effectively treated.

A half-hour consultation with one of our doctors and a physical examination is followed by blood tests to measure your hormones, including testosterone, and to check for diabetes.

Bupa Coronary Health

Heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK. Be proactive and search for early signs of disease with the latest scan.

The scan looks for signs of possible narrowing of the arteries. If this is detected, treatment, exercise and improved nutrition may help prevent a heart attack.

Bupa Colon Health

Finding early bowel cancers make a significant difference in survival1. Bupa Colon Health uses advanced CT scanning to look inside the bowel, where large polyps can be easily seen.

Bupa Allergy Health

Over one in ten people believe they have an allergy, but have never been tested. Our assessment tests for 34 different foods and 20 kinds of airborne substances.

Our expert staff perform a blood test and take your medical history so we are able to ascertain the true likelihood of allergies. If we identify a problem, we can refer you to an allergy specialist with some results already available.

Bupa Liver Health

Today’s lifestyle, including being overweight and alcohol consumption, can make liver disease more likely. Conventional liver function tests may remain normal even when there is early liver damage.

Our state-of-the art liver scan can help indicate early liver disease before symptoms are experienced. The test is painless and suitable for most people.

Bupa Sexual Health

Sexually transmitted infections are on the increase in the UK. They are particularly prevalent in the young, but research shows that they’ve doubled among the over 45s.

Our comprehensive series of tests are for both men and women, who want to make responsible lifestyle choices with their sexual health. The test includes swabs, blood tests and urine testing for all common sexually transmitted infections.
