Dr Brian Franks BDS (U.Lond) LDS RCS (Eng) MFGDP (UK) FPFA ACIArb Hide

• Brian is the Clinical Director, Dentistry for Bupa Health & Wellbeing UK.
  
• Brian has been appointed Clinical Course Lead, Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics, School of Post Graduate Medical and Dental Education, University of Central Lancashire, to help develop and take forward the MSc course in facial aesthetics.
  
• He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of London, a Licenciate of Dental Surgery of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, has a post-graduate Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice of The Royal College of Surgeons (UK) and is a Fellow of The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
  
• Brian has a unique insight into the world of dentistry having worked in NHS, private and corporate dentistry and having served on numerous committees in all three sectors over a 25 year period.
  
• Brian became involved in facial aesthetics as a natural progression from dentistry. As well as being the Clinical Director, Cosmetics for Bupa, he treats clients at his private clinics in Harley Street and Totteridge. He is an endorsed teacher for wrinkle reduction treatment and dermal fillers. He has also produced an endorsed training course for Administration of Local Anaesthesia for Dermal Filler Treatment. Brian formed Dr Brian Franks Training Courses in 2008 for dentists, doctors and nurses and runs Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers training at Foundation and Intermediate/Advanced levels.
  
• In March 2008, Brian was invited onto the Independent Healthcare Advisory Services (IHAS) Injectable Cosmetic Providers Working Group whose task was to set up an industry-led regulatory scheme.

Dr. Ian Kelly BDS(Lon) DipImpDentRCS(Eng) Hide

• Ian qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1986. He has experience in all aspects of dentistry gained over 23 years in both NHS (1986-1990) and Private Practice.
  
• Ian's preferred area in dentistry is implantology and he has achieved a C&C post-graduate qualification from Lister House and the Diploma in Implantology from The Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Bina Patel BDS, MSc (Endondontics), MClinDent Hide

• Bina qualified from the London Hospital in 1986. She has worked within the Hospital, Community and General Dental Services and provided a comprehensive range of dental care for children and adults patients for over 23 years.
  
• Between 1996 and 2000 she completed the MSc and MClinDent programmes in Endodonticts at the Eastman Dental Institute. Her research project relating to endodontiocs microbiology was awarded the British Endodontics Society Poster prize and she entered the Specialist List in 2002.
  
• Since then she has confirmed her practice to this discipline predominantly within private practice.

Jude Ferreira BDS, MSc (Endodontics), FDS RCS (Eng) Hide

• Registered Specialist in Endodontics.
• Jude qualified in 1990 from Glasgow University. He went on to work in general practice for four years. This was followed by a further 2 years of work in hospital posts in the oral and maxillo facial surgery departments.
• During this time Jude developed an interest in endodontics (root canal treatments) and went on to complete a masters degree in endodontics at Guys Hospital in London.
• Jude has been working in endodontics since 1996 and have also gained a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
  

Rosalind O'Leary B.Dent.Sc M.Sc (perio) Hide

• Rosalind has been a specialist in Periodontics since 1993.
  
• She has also been on specialist list in perio since 2000.

• Janet has a wealth of private practice experience having worked in this area in New Zealand and England for over 16 years.
  
• She provides the full range of general dental treatment and advice and has a particular interest in providing high quality cosmetic dentistry.

Jilpa Patel Hide

• Jilpa qualified as a dentist from Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital in 2001 with a distinction. She then went onto work as a House Officer in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at Guy's.
  
• Following on from this, she worked in a general dental practice before working in Community Dentistry, with children and adults with special needs and disabilities.
  
• She attained her MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeon's, London in 2003. Her three year postgraduate training was at the Eastman Dental Institute, London in 2004.
  
• Jilpa is on the specialist list and has been working full time as a specialist orthodontist carrying out a range of treatment for adults and children. She uses fixed and removable appliances, also using the damon system, invisalign and lingual braces. Jilpa's hobbies include travelling, reading and indian dancing.

Bhav Kotecha BDS Hide

• Bhav qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1993. For the last 10 years Bhav has worked as a Dentist for Bupa based in the City of London looking after their predominantly corporate clients. Seven of these years were spent as an in-house Dentist working within PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
  
• Bhav enjoys providing all aspects of dental care and has a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry. He keeps up to date by regularly attending lectures and seminars with the world’s leading dentists. Currently he is undertaking a one year Aesthetic Dentistry course with leading cosmetic dentist Dr Chris Orr and has just completed a year teaching dental undergraduates at Guys Hospital.
  
• He is also accredited to provide Clearstep invisible braces for his patients.He has a particular interest in IT, and followed this up by completing an MSc in E-Commerce at the University of Westminster in 2002.He is married to Evelyn and has a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. Also, he enjoys current affairs and various sports especially football and is a lifelong supporter of Arsenal Football Club.

Anne Heelan B.Dent.Sc. MA Hide

• Anne qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1992 and gained her MA in Healthcare Ethics and Law from Middlesex University London in 2006.
  
• Anne is an experienced clinician and has worked with Bupa since 1999. Before joining the team at Bupa Anne gained seven years experience in practice, hospital and rural out-reach environments in the U.K. and Australia.
  
• Anne also holds a certificate in restorative dentistry.

Sakina Syed BSc EDH (Lond) Hide

• Dental Hygienist.
• Sakina qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist; from The Royal London Hospital. She was the first student to take part in a poster presentation at an international dental conference in Dubai (UAE), on The Oral hygiene of upper limb Amputee patients.
  
• She works as a dental hygienist for Bupa three day per week.
  
• Sakina is passionate about her work and patients and is particularly interested in looking after patients with Periodontal Disease. She often writes clinical scenario based articles for Team in Practice; A journal for the the whole dental team published by the Royal college Of Surgeons, England.

• Dental Hygeinist and Dental Therapist.
• Qualified The Royal London (QMUL) 2007.

Jenny Pinder Bsc BDS MGDSRCS FFGDPRCS Hide

• General Dentist who has a special interest in treating dental phobia with many years of experience. She has a psychology degree and the highest award from the Faculty of General Dental Practice, a Fellowship.

Andrew Gould Hide

• Andrew Gould qualified at King's College London Dental Institute in 1988 and has worked in NHS, private and hospital practice. He works as a Clinical Teacher in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at King's and established The Dental Channel, a dental e-learning company in 1997. His time is divided between The Dental Channel and clinical dentistry at BUPA and King's.

Dr de Waal Hide

• Dr. Henrik de Waal was born in 1955 in Zimbabwe. He graduated from the University of Pretoria School of Dental Medicine in 1978 with a B.Ch.D. Degree. After practising in the U.K. from 1979-1984, he completed his 3-year speciality training in Periodontics at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, U.S.A. in 1987 (C.A.G.S Periodontics; M.Sc.D. Periodontics). Dr. de Waal has been in specialist-periodontics private practice since 1987, but also held visiting-professor posts in the Periodontics Departments of Pretoria, Boston and the University of Zimbabwe Dental School. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has published numerous articles on current topics of interest in clinical periodontics. Dr. de Waal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is registered as a specialist in Periodontics in the U.K, U.S.A. and Germany.
