Bupa Run Check

As a high impact and repetitive activity, running can cause injuries. Our experts can help you to avoid this.

Our Run Check aims to make sure your body is in the best condition for running, helping you to maximise performance and reduce the risk of injury.

During the Run Check, our experts will assess your flexibility, joint mobility, strength and core stability, then devise an individual programme to condition your body for running.

Any previous injuries and problems will be discussed to reduce the chance of reoccurrence and getting in the way of you achieving your goals.*

Our experts will also look at how you run. Each person is unique and will run differently, which can be a cause of injury. We will analyse your running style (gait analysis) and give advice on how to improve your technique and which type of trainers you should use to help correct any biomechanical problems.

At the end of the Run Check you will be given a summary of the assessment findings and recommendations. This will provide you with:

  • a clear plan regarding your training schedule
  • an individually tailored programme of stretches and stability exercises
  • advice regarding your shoes and injury prevention

For your appointment please bring appropriate clothing, such as shorts and a t-shirt, and your current running shoes.

Bupa. With you every step of the way.

Next steps

  • *The Run Check is not designed to assess any pre existing conditions that are preventing you from training. If you are unable to train because of an injury then you are advised to attend a physiotherapy consultation.
