What is covered by Bupa Dental Plan? Hide

Bupa Dental Plan offers a wide range of benefits including:

• five levels of cover
  
• no need to register with a new dentist
  
• cover for pre-existing dental conditions (excluding dental injuries and oral cancer treatments)
  
• worldwide emergency dental treatment
  
• extensive oral cancer treatment

What's not covered by Bupa Dental Plan? Hide

Although most dental treatment is covered under the Bupa Dental Plan scheme, there are certain exclusions to help keep the cost of your cover as low as possible.

• Examples include:
• mouth guards
• cosmetic dentistry
• orthodontic treatment
• general anaesthetic and sedation
• pre-existing dental injury treatment
• physical contact sports injuries
• surgical implants
• pre-existing oral cancer treatment

Does Bupa Dental Plan cover dental treatment for accidental or sports injuries? Hide

Bupa Dental Plan may provide cover for accidental dental injuries (up to an annual benefit limit), even if the injury results from participating in a sporting activity.

Bupa business dental insurance is available for group purchase, but you may be able to offer it to your employees as part of a flexible benefits package or by voluntary payment, via a company discounted scheme. The Bupa sales team will be able to explain the dental insurance options available for your business. 

If your company already has a group private medical insurance scheme with us, you may also benefit from a 10 percent discount^# off the usual cost of the Bupa Dental Plan scheme for a full 12 months.

Does Bupa dental insurance offer any tax benefits to the employer? Hide

As an employer, you will obtain corporation tax relief for the full value of business dental insurance premiums. Your employees' taxable benefits may be of lower values than some of the benefits provided by Bupa dental insurance and may attract P11D dispensation. Please consult your relevant tax district for more information.

Who can be covered by Bupa Dental Plan? Hide

Bupa Dental Plan allows you to provide a level of dental cover for your employees; and you could also choose to extend the benefits to an employee's family. This will then provide cover for their partner and dependant children, up to the age of 24 or up to the date of their marriage, whichever is earlier.

How do I make a claim on my Bupa dental insurance? Hide

There are three easy steps you need to follow if you want to make a claim on your Bupa business dental insurance plan:

1) Take a claim form with you to the dentist.

2) Ask your dentist to complete the treatment section on the claim form.

3) Return the completed claim form with original receipts to:

Can I claim immediately? Hide

Yes. You can claim from the first day of your Bupa Dental Plan membership.

How long will it take to process my dental insurance claim? Hide

We aim to reimburse your eligible dental costs within seven to ten working days after your fully documented claim has been received by Bupa.
