What happens if I need to change my appointment? Hide

If you need to change your appointment please call the reception team as soon as possible and they will reschedule another time for you. Please note that you will need to give 24 hours notice or a cancellation fee will be charged.

What will the costs be? Hide

In most circumstances you will be charged £59 for your initial consultation. Should you require any X-rays during your consultation these are usually charged at £14 per X-ray. The appointment allows your dentist to fully examine your teeth and mouth as well as giving you the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have. From this examination and discussion your dentist will be able to provide you with a detailed treatment plan providing you with treatment options and associated fees.

Your Dental appointment questions

What happens at my first appointment? Hide

At your first appointment you will have an oral health assessment where the tissues supporting your teeth are examined, including appropriate lymph and salivary glands and tongue. You will also be given a gum assessment and have your teeth examined (with, where appropriate, the aid of an intra oral camera to enhance the understanding of your oral condition). Also where appropriate we will discuss X-rays to be taken. You will receive preventive advice, and if any treatment is required, treatment options and costs will be discussed with you and a treatment plan with appropriate fees provided.

How long are the appointments? Hide

Your first oral health assessment examination can be anything between 30 minutes to one hour. If you require further treatment the timings of any further appointments will be discussed with your dentist.

What happens if I need to see a hygienist or specialist? Hide

Referral can be made to our hygienists and specialists at our Dental Centre in Cornhill. We have hygienists and a range of specialties:

• dentists specialising in the care of anxious and phobic patients
• endodontists (root canal therapy)
• oral surgeons (eg wisdom teeth)
• orthodontists (eg straightening teeth)
• periodontist (gums)

We also have implant dentists. These are available at our Centre of Excellence in London and our new Solihull dental centre.

Do I have to be a Bupa member to use Bupa dental services? Hide

No, you don’t have to be a Bupa member, Bupa dental services are open to everyone.

Do you offer cosmetic treatments? Hide

We offer a full range of the latest cosmetic dental procedures including tooth whitening, PRGF treatments, Biolase Laser treatment, veneers, implants and invisible braces.

How would you deal with me being a very nervous patient? Hide

We do have a dentist at the dental centre in Cornhill who specialises in looking after phobic and very nervous patients.
