Treatment that's tailored to me

Having her chemotherapy at home has helped Anne Wise become more independent.

"I sometimes can't drive and I'm very reliant on my partner," she said. "Having my treatment at home means I don't have to drive two hours to the hospital for a blood test and my chemotherapy."

It has also taken part of the stress out of a very difficult situation. "I don't have the worry of finding a parking space, or finding somewhere to sit down. Logistically speaking, it has made a huge difference."

Until recently Anne was receiving her treatment on the NHS. She is positive about the treatment and the level of care she received but appreciates that Bupa Home Healthcare is tailored to the individual.

"I now have individual one-to-one treatment with my own nurse. It's tailored to you for however long you need the treatment."

"My nurse Elisa Follen has told me things about my condition that I didn't know. She is a haematology nurse and it's good to have that experience and expertise."

Anne was nervous about having treatment at home but changed her mind as soon as she had her first visit. She said: "It was a funny day as I had a house insulation survey man round, which was fine, and then the next moment I saw a woman coming down the drive with a big box – she was the delivery driver from Bupa Home Healthcare."

"She had travelled from Harlow to make sure I had the drugs I needed for my treatment."

"They were being made up in the morning so she picked them up at 10am and by 1pm she was at my house. Five minutes later Elisa turned up, it was incredible."

"The day went really well, I was able to sit in the comfort of my room whilst having my treatment. "

"Everything ran so smoothly."
