Memory Walk is Alzheimer’s Society flagship fundraising event and 2013 will see Bupa Care Services partnering with these events for the third year.
Throughout September thousands of people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will walk together with a common cause; fighting dementia.
In 2012, Memory Walk raised over £1 million to benefit people living with dementia. We want you to help make this year even bigger and better!
Registration for Memory Walk 2013 is now open so to find a walk near you in England, Wales or Northern Ireland - visit the Memory Walk site.
Bupa Care Services has once again partnered with Scotland’s leading dementia charity, Alzheimer Scotland, to deliver Memory Walk.
Join us on Saturday 21 September, World Alzheimer’s Day, in Dalkeith Country Estate, five miles from Edinburgh city centre.
For more information or to register, visit Alzheimer Scotland Memory Walk or call 0845 260 0789. Please quote Bupa.
To help raise even more money to support people living with dementia, many of the events will offer walkers the chance to take part in the Bupa Memory Mile. For every walker who participates on the day, Bupa Care Services will donate an additional £2.50 to the charities.
Earlier this year, Bupa Care Services’ partnership with Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk won the Charity and Community category at the Hollis Sponsorship Awards.
The UK wide awards showcase the most effective use of sponsorship and Memory Walks was highlighted as best example of collaboration between Business, Community and Charity. Thank you to all those who helped to make 2012 a huge success.
We combine experience and expertise to provide specialised dementia care in our homes. And our partnerships with the Alzheimer’s Society and experts at Bradford University ensure our care reflects the latest medical research.
It might sound too good to be true, but simply walking can help you reach the recommended target of at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, five days a week.
