Q Can employees’ families benefit from Bupa Positive Health?
A Yes, if they are named on insured employees’ policies. If not, you can purchase additional licences for them.
Q Who is responsible for quality and content?
A Bupa chose vielife to provide, update, manage and supply the content of the Bupa Positive Health initiative. vielife is a global, market–leading health and well–being organisation. It has established more than 18 years’ experience and expertise in this field and has worked with many different organisations, ranging from worldwide corporations to Formula One drivers.
Q There are many health ‘fads’ online, and so much information – how do I know my employees can rely on the advice given?
A Bupa Positive Health is managed, written and updated by qualified health professionals, and overseen by a chief medical officer.
Q Will I be able to view my employees’ profiles and assessment results?
A Personal data will not be made accessible to employers. No information or data disclosed by your employees will be, under any circumstances, passed on to any other company or organisation. The reports which employers will receive do not contain any individual data, or any information that could identify a specific employee or company. This is a completely confidential service available on a secure, password–protected website. Bupa is responsible for the integrity of all data. If employees leave their profiles open whilst away from their desk for more than 15 minutes, the system will automatically shut down to protect privacy.
Q Will Bupa Positive Health distract employees from their work?
A Employees can complete online health and well–being assessments at their leisure, even when they are not at work. This service is accessible and available online 24 hours a day. Assessments can be undertaken in a matter of minutes, a different one each visit if users prefer, and can accessed or re–taken at any time. Employees will also receive email reminders from time to time, which are designed to help keep their progress on track.
Q How long do the assessments take?
A Each assessment takes on average 10 minutes to complete. The assessments can be paused and saved to resume at a later date.
Q How soon are the results available for users?
A Each report is produced as soon as each assessment has been completed. The results are automatically saved and can be viewed at any time, by the employee.
Q Can employees print out advice, reports and plans?
A Yes, any information, assessment, recommendation or advice can be printed off using the normal PC or Mac process. Assessment results are saved securely online, and can be re–visited as little or often as each employee requires. Employees will also receive fortnightly, automatic health updates, hints and tips by email. These can also be printed out as required.
Q How will I know if my workforce’s health is improving?
A The more employees who participate on a regular basis, the greater the potential to see improvements within your organisation. Encouraging and incentivising your workforce to continue using Bupa Positive Health is a good way to promote and retain uptake. By monitoring your company’s attendance and sickness absence records, even employee morale, you could also see a difference.
Q Why should I encourage more employees to use this service?
A After three and nine months and if you have at least 50 registered users at your company who have taken the health and well–being assessment, you can purchase a bespoke company report. This will show your workforce’s average score in the four key areas scores (nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress); giving you a clear indication of the overall health of your employees. Such reports can also highlight problem areas that may benefit from additional health packages that you can purchase to tackle them. You can also monitor these reports over time, and measure the improvements.
Q What happens when employees leave my company?
A Registered users can access Bupa Positive Health for as long as they are covered on your company’s Bupa scheme. On leaving your company and your Bupa scheme, their data will be permanently removed and their account locked. Where you have purchased Bupa Positive Health for uninsured employees, their account will be terminated when you give us notice that they are no longer in your employment.
1 Entry level Bupa Positive Health is a non–contractual benefit which is provided to eligible clients/members by Bupa Occupational Health Limited.
