With 33,000 runners, the Bupa Great Manchester Run is Britain's premier 10km race and was first staged in 2003.
The Bupa Great Manchester Run was devised by former Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist and BBC sports commentator Brendan Foster. It takes in all the top sights of central Manchester and has become increasingly popular with celebrity runners.
