Company dental services

A highly valued employee benefit that minimises time out of the office

Dental problems can lead to frequent periods away from work. Regular check-ups by an on-site dentist can prevent problems and radically reduce the need to take time off.

Imagine this scenario. One of your key revenue earners, for the first time in two years, visits his local dentist (resulting in a morning away from the office) and discovers that four more appointments are needed.

A BUPA on-site dentist could prevent this problem. The examination and any further treatment needed would take place at work and the employee could easily arrange work around appointment times. The benefits both to the employee and the company are obvious.

Advanced treatment, innovative service

BUPA Wellness is the UK’s leading provider of on-site dental services - offering high standards of clinical expertise through our fully accredited dentists, specialists and hygienists - and our state-of-the-art transportable dental surgery.

We can provide:

Prevention is better than cure - for our company and our employees

BUPA Oral health assessment - unique to BUPA Wellness, an advanced preventive dental health programme available alongside more conventional treatment and consultations. It delivers a thorough examination of the entire mouth and surrounding areas to identify existing or potential problems.

A treatment plan is developed which demonstrates how to maintain oral health.

Traditional care - from the smallest filling to solving complex problems, all our dentists have high standards of clinical expertise along with sympathetic qualities to help soothe anxious patients.

Specialist treatment - our dentists can refer to endodontists (root treatment), periodontists (gums), oral surgeons and implant specialists - all available as in-house resources.

Hygiene - as a vital part of preventive care and maintaining healthy gums, our hygienists provide scaling, cleaning, and advice about looking after teeth and gums at home.

Cosmetic dentistry - we offer some excellent types of cosmetic dentistry treatments, including teeth whitening and tooth-coloured restorations.

A choice of on-site services

These range from our flexible state-of-the-art system to the ‘employment’ of your own dentist.

‘The Dental Box’ - a fully transportable, rapidly assembled and comprehensive dental surgery offered exclusively by BUPA Wellness. Normally we can turn a meeting room into a dental surgery and back again within a couple of hours.

Having a dentist on-site makes me more likely to go for a check-up

Fixed on-site surgeries - where you already have facilities for on-site medical care, we can set up and operate a fixed surgery in which dentists and specialists can all operate.

Mobile surgeries - dental surgeries mounted in vans - ideal when your staff headcount doesn’t justify your own dental surgery.

‘Employed’ dentist - as organisations are not able to retain their own dentists, we can employ a dentist on your behalf, allowing you to offer dentistry to your staff at subsidised rates.

A tailored service that could cost you very little

On-site dental care can be funded wholly or partly by your company or made available on a self-pay basis. If your staff already have dental insurance, it's possible that self-pay costs could be claimed back, which could mean little or no cost to your employees or your company. The service can also be provided as part of an integrated health care service, in conjunction with a company doctor and nurse, physiotherapy, health assessments and an employee assistance programme.

As well as dental, we can also offer many other health services on-site, such as health assessments, a doctor and nurse service, and occupational health. These are particularly effective in reducing your sickness costs when they work together, giving you a complete and integrated health care service.

Case study: Reducing the cost of lost time away from work to see the doctor, dentist or physiotherapist
