Travel health and immunisations
Pre-travel preparation is an essential component of ensuring the health and wellbeing of all individuals who undertake business travel.
If you require staff to travel overseas, you should ensure that they are fully informed about the health risks they may face.
BUPA Wellness can provide a comprehensive travel advice service enabling travellers to avoid health hazards and diseases whilst overseas. Employees travelling abroad are advised how to minimise risks of travel-related ill-health. This will be achieved by ensuring that they are:
- fit to undertake the journey
- adequately prepared for their journey
All our services conform to the World Health Organisation's guidelines and are delivered by fully trained nurses, to help you fulfil your duty of care to your staff:
- pre- and post-travel health screening appropriate to your employees
- medical history review
- up-to-the-minute health information and education on destinations around the world
- health counselling and literature offering personal advice
- vaccinations and immunisations, including a schedule of what is needed
- malaria prophylaxis
- Deep Vein Thrombisis risk assessment
- provision of travel packs, trauma packs, mosquito nets, etc
We can work with you to:
- develop travel health policies and procedures
- deliver travel seminars
- produce risk assessments of travel abroad
We can deliver travel services at one of our centres or if appropriate on-site.
Many of our centres are approved yellow fever centres.
We also offer the BUPA Classic Travel Health Assessment. This offers all the advantages of the Classic Health Assessment but has been specifically designed for employees who are travelling or being posted abroad on international assignments. It provides health and travel information relevant to the country or region of residence or stay.
