option for you when you call. There are several assessments available and the
choice will depend on your individual requirements. Each assessment has the
same aim - the early detection and prevention of illness.

BUPA Classic Health Assessment - £100 off for a limited period only*
Our most popular assessment provides an in-depth profile of your health and wellbeing and includes a 45-minute consultation with a BUPA doctor.
We assess the health of your heart and lungs and carry out detailed blood analysis to test for conditions such as raised cholesterol, diabetes and gout. We'll check your hearing and vision and provide you with a detailed body composition profile, including your body fat percentage. We’ll also talk you through diet and lifestyle.
If you are over 45, a test that might indicate bowel cancer in also included.
For men, we'll provide a testicular examination and if you’re over 50, a blood test that may indicate prostate cancer.
For women, we provide a cervical smear, and a pelvic and breast examination. If you’re aged 50 or over, the assessment also includes a thyroid function blood test. If you are over 40, a mammogram can be included for an additional fee.

In-depth health and fitness assessment |
BUPA Premier Health Assessment
A comprehensive and advanced assessment recommended for anyone who takes a particular interest in fitness and lifestyle as well as their general health.
In addition to all that is offered by the Classic, the Premier Health Assessment includes a cardio-respiratory exercise test to assess the efficiency of your heart, lungs, metabolism, circulation and muscles during exercise. It provides a measurement of your aerobic fitness and can help identify any areas of concern including the early stages of heart disease.

Maintaining a healthy life |
BUPA Key Health Assessment
Focusing on key health issues, this is for anyone looking for a general assessment of their health and an understanding of their future health risks and how these may be minimised through simple lifestyle changes.
As it does not include gynaecological tests it is ideal for women who already have smears at their GP surgery. If you're aged 50 or over the assessment also includes a thyroid function blood test. It is suitable for people without any specific health concerns, particularly those under 40.

BUPA Wellwoman Health Assessment
This gives you the opportunity to seek reassurance about women’s health issues and assesses your breast and gynaecological health. It includes a cervical smear, blood analysis, a thorough breast examination and mammography if you’re over 40.

BUPA Later Life Health Assessment
This assessment provides a full profile of your health and wellbeing, plus an extended consultation with a BUPA doctor to discuss your health concerns. A mammogram for women can be purchased for an additional fee.

BUPA Coronary Risk Assessment
This identifies the main risk factors for heart disease, with practical advice to help you manage those risks for the future. A unique feature is a state-of-the-art heart scan.
The scan detects the first signs of atheroma (narrowing) in the heart arteries - the first signs of heart disease. By detecting this early, lifestyle changes can be made and treatment can be given to help prevent heart disease.
Combined with a range of cardiovascular tests, this is a highly advanced risk assessment of heart disease that gives you the opportunity to reduce your risk through positive lifestyle changes.

Maintaining a healthy bowel |
BUPA Bowel Health Assessment
We know that bowel cancer is a serious problem so this assessment has been designed to detect it early. The BUPA Bowel Health Assessment uses virtual colonoscopy, a new technique that enables doctors to look for polyps and cancers in the bowel using a CT scanner.
The CT scan, which produces a virtual colonoscopy, allows the doctor to see the inside of the bowel clearly and detect any abnormalities that need treating.
Available for men and women over 45.
Duration: 40 minutes
£500 when purchased with a BUPA Classic, Premier or Later Life Health Assessment, or stand alone.
Currently, this assessment is only available at Bristol, Birmingham and Glasgow.

BUPA Lifestyle Health Check
For many people, actively taking good care of their health begins with acquiring a better understanding of their own personal health issues and lifestyle.
This Lifestyle Health Check will give you an assessment of your health to help you identify aspects of your lifestyle that may be putting you at risk of future health problems.
This questionnaire takes only about 15 minutes to complete. The questions have been designed by BUPA's medical experts. They ask you for information about your personal and family medical history, your weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and about lifestyle areas such as diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption and stress.
We'd like to reassure you that the information you provide is treated in the strictest confidence.
