Read more about Bupa's partnership with Community Christmas
Many of our care homes threw their doors open this Christmas to people who faced Christmas Day alone. Through our partnership with Community Christmas we have helped to reduce isolation amongst elderly people at a time of year when they can feel particularly lonely.
Over 70 homes took part in the festivities with traditional Christmas lunches, champagne, games and even visits from Father Christmas. Rebecca Pearson, Operations Director at Bupa explains “We know loneliness is a growing issue for elderly people - at Christmas and all year round. It’s great that we are in a position to support Community Christmas by opening our doors on Christmas Day to offer our elderly community somewhere they can enjoy some festive food and fun in the company of others. I know our residents love welcoming some new faces to their home too.”
