Staff and residents at Heathbrook Bupa Care Home in Bromsgrove have been keeping their spirits up in a variety of ways throughout lockdown, most recently with a whole day dedicated to the film, ‘Grease’.
The residents at the home spent the morning watching ‘Grease’ in the cinema room, whilst the afternoon was spent with a live karaoke session, with staff and residents singing along to their favourite songs from the musical.
Whilst singing and dancing along to their favourite songs, the residents also enjoyed hot dogs and doughnuts in the spirit of the movie.
The day was topped off with fancy dress outfits from everyone involved, including staff members dressing up as John Travolta’s Danny Zuko, Stockard Channing’s Betty Rizzo and Olivia Newton-John’s Sandy Olsson.
Speaking about the day, Home Manager Natasha Walmsley said: “It’s important that we keep everyone’s spirits up during lockdown and dressing up as Grease characters did exactly that. The residents absolutely loved the whole day, from the cinema in the morning to karaoke in the afternoon.”
“We wanted to do something that everyone would enjoy, and seeing the residents faces light up made it all worth it.”
