Welcome to Prestemede Care Home in Powys

Prestemede provides a warm, friendly atmosphere for our residents in a pleasant residential area of Presteigne in Powys. Our beautiful garden, with its shrubs and raised flowerbeds, enhances our tranquil location.

We offer several types of stay depending on the level of support required – from long-term care, residential, palliative, convalescence and respite care. Our highly-trained care assistants are on hand 24-hours a day, striking a balance between support and allowing residents as much independence as possible.

We create a Map of Life for each resident, to help document their history, experiences and expectations. We use this to adapt the care we provide to best suit their needs.

We are regulated by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW)

Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.

This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.
