Life at Summerville Care Home

A wide range of activities help residents to get to know one another while also improving sleep patterns and appetites. We aim to find something fun and involving for our residents to try every day.

Our activities

We encourage our residents to pursue their own hobbies, and our dedicated activity co-ordinator will look into accommodating any special requests. Our co-ordinator also suggests new activities for residents that may suit them and help them feel part of our community. These might include quizzes, film screenings, use of the computer as well as old favourites such as arts and crafts and a little gentle gardening.

Local entertainers often pop in to perform, and the hairdresser visits once a week. Friends and family are welcome to come along and join in whenever they like – it's a great way to liven up visits.

How do I arrange a visit?

We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first. Download our guide to choosing a care home

Can I bring my own furniture?

Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.

How soon can I move in?

This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.
