GDC - 82605 BDS (Lond), MFDS RCS (Eng), MOrth RCS (Edin), MSc (Res) Specialist in Orthodontics

Joining us as an orthodontic specialist in 2022, Rippon qualified in dentistry from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ in London, in 2003. She has a strong passion for her work and aims to create a caring and friendly environment.

During her studies, Rippon developed an interest in surgery, which led to her spending nine years training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. She spent five years as a specialty doctor of oral and maxillofacial surgery in various hospitals in the southeast, including the Royal London Hospital, where she was also an honorary clinical lecturer and involved in undergraduate dental training.

Rippon’s qualifications in oral and maxillofacial surgery, together with her interest in jaw surgery, led her to specialise in orthodontics and undertake higher specialist orthodontic training with both Birmingham Dental Hospital and Worcestershire Royal Hospital. As part of her training, Rippon also completed a master’s degree in research, looking at the self-esteem and quality of life in patients undergoing jaw surgery. She successfully completed the training and was awarded a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Alongside her role in Clifton, Rippon is an examiner for the General Dental Council/Royal College of Surgeons England, involving examining overseas dentists. She also works as a specialist orthodontist for Birmingham Dental Hospital, treating an array of complex cases, including surgical cases, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. She has a keen interest in aesthetic orthodontics, including Invisalign aligners, treating mild to complex cases, and she’s experienced in providing Invisalign Teen.

Rippon has obtained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. At a London conference in 2012, she was awarded the Associate Fellow’s Prize from the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, for her presentation of a clinical study in third molar surgery, conducted at the Royal London Hospital. Rippon enjoys keeping up to date with changes in orthodontics.
