Mark is our clinic’s director. He trained in Manchester and Glasgow, and is a specialist in oral surgery.

After qualifying at the University of Manchester in 1991, Mark went on to train in oral and maxillofacial units in England from 1992 to 1995. He then attained his fellowship (FDS) at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

In 1997, Mark returned to Northern Ireland to work at a specialist oral surgery practice. He is now the director of this clinic and of our sister-clinic, Ballymena Specialist Dental Clinic.

After qualifying at Queen’s University Belfast in 1994, Simon worked in general dentistry from 1995 to 2002. He then lectured at Queen's University Belfast for two years before undertaking higher specialist training in restorative dentistry for five years. He completed his PhD in 2007.

He is a consultant in restorative dentistry at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, and has worked part-time in the Fortwilliam Clinic here in Belfast since 2013, offering the full range of restorative dentistry services.

No, orthodontics for adults is becoming more and more common. We can talk through your options with you.

We do understand that some people really struggle with dental treatment. But we have lots of ways to help put you at ease. Please just tell us how you feel and what worries you, and then we can work together to decide on the right approach.

Generally we recommend twice yearly check-ups every six months. However, this varies on a case by case basis. Your Bupa Dental Care dentist will talk to you about when and how often we need to see you.

Fillings repair small holes in your tooth enamel. If they aren’t filled, the decay will deepen. You’ll start to feel pain, and you could end up needing root canal treatment, which is much more significant and costs more. So although you might not feel pain right now, it’s best to repair these holes as soon as possible.
