Training and qualifications
After completing her undergraduate studies in Stockholm, Sweden, Shima began her career in general dental practice. In 2003, she moved to the UK in 2003 and worked in general practice for seven years while concurrently teaching clinical dentistry to undergraduate students at King's College Dental Institute during the latter two years. After a successful career as a general dental practitioner, Shima decided to pursue her passion for endodontics and entered a specialist programme in endodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital where she obtained her master’s in clinical dentistry (endodontics), before completing her specialist year of training. During this time, Shima treated referral-based patients for complex non-surgical and surgical root canal treatment procedures.
