Dr Georgios Chatzopoulos

Following training at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, Dr Chatzopoulos qualified as a dentist in 2014. Following a year of general dental practice, he joined the University of Minnesota, USA, as a postgraduate student in a program in Periodontology and Dental Implantology. At the University of Minnesota, he obtained a certificate in periodontology and a master’s degree in dentistry and biostatistics.
During his clinical training, Georgios treated complex periodontal disease with conventional non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapies, regenerative procedures and implant treatments on a daily basis.
Georgios limits his practice to periodontology, dental implant and bone reconstruction surgery. In addition to working in private practice, Dr Chatzopoulos serves as a clinical research fellow in the Centre for Oral Clinical Research of the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Dr Chatzopoulos has supervised predoctoral and postgraduate students as well as conducted research that led to more than 25 publications in highly respected peer reviewed dental journals. In addition, he has given numerous presentations locally, nationally and internationally including at highly respected dental organisations such as the International Team for Implantology (ITI), International Association for Dental Research (IADR), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and Academy of Osseointegration (AO).
He is a member of numerous professional associations and he has received awards and scholarships in the area of periodontology and implant dentistry.
Georgios is now trained and certified to provide Pinhole® Surgical Technique, which is a less invasive gum treatment for periodontic patients.
