Malt House Specialist Dental Centre
GDC - 43757 BDS University of Manchester 1969 Dentist
Bernard qualified from Manchester Dental Hospital in November 1969 with a BDS degree and was awarded the Children’s Dentistry Prize for his year. After qualifying, he joined the NHS practice in Crumpsall, Manchester, where he had been a patient as a young boy. Two years later, he took over the practice when the principal dentist left.
In 1975, he was invited to join and take over a fully private practice in St. John Street, Manchester. Both practices thrived and he divided his time between the two, where he kept the same staff for 35 years. After over three decades in his NHS practice, Bernard decided to dedicate his time fully to his private practice. He also became a visiting dentist to many care homes in the area, and on one occasion looked after the doctor who delivered him as a baby.
In 2009 he became a member of the Joint Dental Faculty, MJDF, at the Royal College of Surgeons.
Bernard was then invited to become the chairman of the St. John Street Medical Association and continued in this position until the properties were sold in 2010. He also does a great deal of dento-legal work, which has added greatly to his experience.
