In 1994, he was awarded his license in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow as well as a master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of London. Two years later, he was accredited by the General Dental Council as a specialist in oral surgery.
In 2006, Hosam completed three years of formal training in implant dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was awarded the college implant diploma and advanced certificate in dental implantology from the institution. Soon after, he presented his thesis on immediate implant placement to the University of London, as well as gained his second master’s degree in implant dentistry.
Hosam was previously the principal oral surgeon and clinical director of the Cottage Implant Clinic. He helped revolutionise the practice over 20 years, which is now a dedicated implant and oral surgery referral centre.
Alongside his dental practice, Hosam teaches implant dentistry both nationally and internationally and mentors dentists on placing and restoring implants. He’s a regional mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology UK and a visiting lecturer for many implant courses across the country.
