Diagnosing dementia

It’s good to understand what the early symptoms of dementia can be, and to know what do if you suspect that you or a loved one may have dementia. Your GP can give you information and arrange for tests and assessments.

If it does turn out to be dementia, coming to terms with your emotions after the diagnosis can take time. There will also be practical and financial things to think about. But it's important to know that help is available at every step.

Here you can find information about how dementia is diagnosed and what happens afterwards, as well as information about the potential pros and cons of early diagnosis.
